Robert Talamas was born in Florida and has lived and worked in places as varied as New York City, Florence, Italy, and the Central Coast of Oregon. During high school Robert won a national poster competition and his work was featured in several national publications. After having been awarded a scholarship to study Fine Art, he spent two years in Europe studying Art History and completed a degree in Visual Arts Administration, graduating with honors from the University of Central Florida in 1995.
Prior to moving to New York to pursue a career in the graphic arts in 1997, Robert co-founded Talamas Art Studios with his mother Debbie and brother Ken. Specializing in murals, trompe l'oeil, and unique faux finishes, Talamas Art Studios gained a reputation and loyal following among Central Florida's best interior decorators, model home developers, and historical preservationists. Their work has been featured in Architectural Digest, SW Florida Living, and Southern Living Magazine.
After a year of graduate coursework in Advertising Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Robert enjoyed ten years as a successful graphic artist in New York City. In 2004 he worked for a company that was contracted to market events for Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine. Currently, he is a freelance graphic designer living in Central Oregon, continuing a tradition of combining a distinguished career in the graphic arts, along with increasing his popularity as a fine artist.
