I began my artistic journey while making my living with drywall. I specialized with hand textures where I could express some level of skill and creativity. I explored with 3 dimensional designs that I worked right into the walls and ceilings of client’s homes, sometimes painting them and sometimes leaving that up to the homeowner. Using a combination of different gypsum materials, a variety of trims, and paint, I could create interesting and unique art. A few years ago I started working with small pieces and found that not only could these pieces be installed right into the wall, but could also be framed and hung like other artwork. I feel that my gypsum artwork is very unique with it’s 3 dimensional quality and could appeal to a variety of people. I have also explored with wood carving and have become somewhat successful at that, as well. I am currently expanding my horizons and enjoy with working with all sorts of materials.
