I was born and raised in Sweden, a beautiful country in Scandinavia, and came to the USA in 1979. I now live in Eugene, Oregon. My interest in art began at a very young age. I was inspired by my mother. Watching her paint on porcelain and tile gave me my desire to express myself with color, lines and form. A big part of that desire is in my DNA. I just just to listen to my inner voice and do it. In Sweden I took classes in oil painting. Here in the USA I have studied drawing, in particular drawing the human figure. I would say that I am mostly self-taught.Statement:
Art is an experience. For me the creative aspect is the most interesting, the process of doing something with a blank canvas. Expressing what I am feeling and what is happening in my life. When I am done, it's all yours. I hope sharing my art this way will bring enjoyment, make you think, reflect on life and what is going on around you. My artwork is all about my life and things that happen around me, the connection between man and nature. I observe reality and express it the way I see it. I want to show it upfront, simple and pleasing to the eye. Hoping to add to the quality of life, mine and yours. My work can be described as mostly figurative. Sometimes I do a series of paintings on the same theme, trying different colors and techniques. Life is beautiful, so is art.
