I was born in Bird Island, Minnesota, which is not an island and has no birds, just a small town. I did not get into photography until my 30's in Berkeley, California. I used a Kodak 35mm camera and had my own dark room. I did a series of people's faces, drawing on my travels in the United States and Europe. Because of time demands, working and children, I put my passion aside.
Now in my sixties with my children grown, I have come back to my love of photography. My old camera and darkroom have been replaced by a new digital camera and software to explore all it's exciting new possibilities. Taking shots with my Minolta, capturing the unusual at the right time and place, is rewarding.
My current project is to increase my series capturing older men with their road maps of their lives written on their faces.
