"Colors in oil push further than in plastic..."
--This is why I paint exclusively in oil: there are more ways (and more time) to manipulate color while yet pliable in the wet.
"You can change it, but you can't go back..."
--There's a certain inherent thrill in the risk of drawing with ink pen rather than pencil: once you lay down a line, you can't take it back. Its crispness is beyond any other medium.

I utilize black pen and ink as a means to further my study of the nature of "structure" while I push vibrant, explosive oil color to the brink of infusing emotion into form.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a major in painting from San Francisco Art Institute and am now a Member-at-large on the executive board at New Zone Gallery.
