My work is about the emotional happenings in my life and the lives of those people who surround me. They are the results of the experiences I encounter. Sometimes my paintings are triggered by the death, struggle or joy of a friend.
Other times a memory, song or deep reflection draws out my emotions. I express these emotions through mixed medium paintings, using acrylics and other materials.
Sometimes I paint on canvas, sometimes on wood or found objects. Lately, most of my paintings have been on paper. I try to contrast bright colors with dark colors in hopes that the viewer will be able to relate the work to experiences in his or her own life.
Not everyone will connect with every piece I create. Sometimes you will feel a connection, but you won’t understand why. Abstract art, to me, is that emotional connection between the painter and the viewer.
