E-mail: marion71@earthlink.net

Biography:
Born in Berlin, Germany, studied graphic art at Academy of Art, San Francisco, CA and Art Center School of Design, Los Angeles, CA. Received M.A. from Cal State Northridge. Has worked in graphic art, applied arts, three-dimensional art and teaching. Exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, and Hawaii. Inspired by Picasso, Miro, and DeKooning's expressiveness and originality.

Statement:
I see a drawing as I look outside my window; a variation of lines, thick and thin, and very fine, weaving directions, building forms as they meet and cross. They are tree trunks and branches against ever changing light. I cannot draw them the way they are on my flat paper with it's limited dimensions. My job is to make the paper or canvas come to life with each line. Space takes over and lines defer to it. Images appear but they too have to defer to space as well as the aliveness of the canvas. Back and forth adjustment continues until a balance and a totality happen. The picture must have originality and capture my interest.
